I’m using this blog to expand on some of its topics using current day issues, in the hope that together we can stop the declining values in America.
Today in America, our Founders’ noble experiment to create and preserve a unique government of the people, by the people, and for the people has run amuck. From patriotic, selfless volunteers whose sole purpose was to provide the best for their posterity, we have deteriorated into well-paid, influential, career office holders whose prime purpose is too often reelection.
Our Founders wisely realized that the only protection against human greed and selfishness was their allegiance to our Creator, God and His Inspired Word, the Bible. To insure there would be no corruption in interpreting the Bible by any specific “church” affiliation or creed, such as Anglicans, Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, etc., the First Amendment prevented the establishment of any “religion” or the prohibition of free exercise thereof. God and the Bible, unaltered and unblemished by human interpretations, were to be the sole basis for US laws, moral values, truth and justice.
In the early 1960s, Federal Courts willfully misinterpreted the meaning and intentions of our Founders to enable human judgment to replace God’s. Now, elections to federal offices tend to be a contest of who can promise voters the most money-related benefits – more jobs, higher pay, more benefits, more days off, etc. – all at less effort to earn same by recipients. Reelection has replaced preservation of values for posterity.
The constant stressing of the economy and more jobs, as America’s greatest concern, is a prime example of putting the cart before the horse. Jobs and the economy will take care of themselves, if we first develop American citizens with the proper attitudes, motivations, work ethic, sense of responsibility, perseverance, job skills, etc. to seek and create the new jobs.
To fix America, we must put our priorities in the proper order, seeking first things first! As the Bible wisely reveals, “But seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness.” We must first create good people if we want good results to come from their efforts.
