Welcome. My name is Ray W. Rowney, Jr., author of License to Steal. I’m so happy to have you as a visitor to my blog about my book.
I’m using this blog to expand on some of its topics using current day issues, in the hope that together we can stop the declining values in America.
Although Congress submitted the text of the most recent Amendment XXVII to the States as part of the Bill of Rights (ratified December 15, 1791), it was not ratified until approved by Michigan on May 7, 1992. Since it dealt with compensation for members of Congress, it appears that a conflict between money and principles has always plagued we humans. This proposal is put forth as the means to insure that principles and values are never replaced by human greed.
As James Madison (Father of the Constitution) penned in 1789 concerning the Future America: “We have staked the whole future of American Civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it, … but upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern, to control, and to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God. “
On June 14, 1954, President Eisenhower signed into law an Act of Congress to add “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance. At the signing, he stated “… in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country’s most powerful resource in peace and war.”
On July 30, 1956, the 84th Congress, 2nd Session, approved Public Law 851, Chapter 795: “Resolved … That the Motto of the United States is hereby declared to be “In God We Trust.”
To insure that our Nation’s unprecedented success over its first 167 years, under the guidance of our Creator, God, is once again made available to our posterity, the following Amendment is proposed:
“In recognition of the belief held by the Founding Fathers that God is not a religion, but the Creator of the universe, the foundation of all Truth, and the ultimate Judge of all mankind, Congress shall make no law, nor the Judicial System issue any judgement, which restricts the recognition of Almighty God and our individual and joint dependence on Him, particularly in regard to daily prayer and Bible reading in public schools.
Furthermore, in recognition that the Ten Commandments issued by God in the Bible have been and should always continue to be the foundation of all moral values and laws within our Republic, Congress shall make no law, nor the Judicial System issue any judgement, which is contrary to the intentions of these Commandments.”
