I’m using this blog to expand on some of its topics using current day issues, in the hope that together we can stop the declining values in America.
The most charitable observation I can make concerning Professional Footballer Colin Kaepernick’s disgraceful attitude toward our flag and National Anthem, before millions of people, is that had he done his homework and honestly reviewed our history, he would have realized the cause he claimed to champion was 60 years earlier.
Today, in America, there is no greater proof than his Profession that America rewards top skills and talents, not the color of one’s skin. Check the roster of Professional Football and Basketball teams. The message should be clear to all who truly wish to excel at their chosen profession. The great freedom provided in America is that of “opportunity”, not free government handouts to reward inactions.
If any, there is now a reverse discrimination in business and industry to hire “qualified” young blacks. If two equally qualified black and white applicants are interviewed, the black will be chosen nearly every time as they are in such short-supply. Dr. Ben Carson should be the perfect role model for all young blacks, yet too often they label him as an “Uncle Tom”. Strange they claim to want equal pay and respect, but they don’t want to earn same by expending the schooling efforts, dedication, long hours of hard work, etc. necessary, except in professional sports.
Thus, the Colin Kaepernicks and Labron Jameses of athletic fame and success should be in the black neighborhoods imploring the importance of preparation and skills development, teaching that it’s job performance not protests that achieve the rewards for a job well done. The “opportunity” now goes begging: it’s “qualified” black workers that are in short supply. Let’s deal with the real problem, if we want real improvement in black lives !!
