Welcome. My name is Ray W. Rowney, Jr., author of License to Steal. I’m so happy to have you as a visitor to my blog about my book.
I’m using this blog to expand on some of its topics using current day issues, in the hope that together we can stop the declining values in America.
As my escalating health deterioration is gaining speed, I want to share some lessons I have learned since my birth in 1938. Part I covers my first two lessons. First and foremost, the more difficult the times and conditions, the stronger my faith and dedication to God’s work. I now live each day homebound and supported by 2 canes, barely able to shuffle my swollen feet, but with a peace of mind that truly passes all human understanding. When…..
When I graduated from high school in 1956, it was understood that the next phase of life should be planning and preparing for my chosen job path, and developing the strengths and wisdom to enable me to assess the good from the bad in all situations and experiences I encounter. I wanted to build a solid job resume and mold a philosophy to guide the rest of my life. Higher education had a twofold purpose: 1) develop specific job…..
A review of world history clearly reveals that human greed and selfishness make it impossible for we humans to ever achieve a lasting world peace based on our human values. Imperfect tools create imperfect structures. The human desire to reap what we didn’t sow prevents any meaningful comprehensive set of common principles and values from humans. However, as noted in the accompanying Founder’s Thought, FDR’s attempt to subtly promote a “new world order” by incorporating the Latin words on…..
With October comes the annual Obamacare Insurance Fiasco. Consumers are bombarded with announcements of the new enrollment period (October 15 to December 7) to attempt to find new medical insurance to reduce somewhat the staggering premium increases resulting from the intentional misrepresentations of our President, who politically promised better service and coverage at significant cost savings. While enrollees are facing a 22% increase in their premiums, the self-supporting, privately covered individuals have faced 40% to 60% increases for acting responsibly. …..

Sadly for America, Trumps’s personal courage, internal fortitude, unwavering commitment is intentionally distorted and attacked as pride and arrogance. “Business as usual” politicians fear real change to their self-serving, debt-ridden, establishment hierarchy. An honest, straight-talking, unafraid independent evaluation threatens the very foundation of the…..
As the news continues to be dominated by attacks on Donald Trump’s character for past sexual indiscretions, I am greatly concerned that America is adopting “the glass is half empty” negative approach rather than the positive “the glass is half full”. Sadly, the future of our nation is in our human…..
One of the latest attempts to attack the character of Donald Trump, for having tax deductions exceeding income, says much about America’s failure to understand the US tax laws. Rather than being “loopholes”, most permitted tax deductions were bipartisan incentives to encourage Americans to support churches, hospitals, universities, etc. as well as create and develop businesses to stimulate our economy.
Promoting God and His values, providing good medical services, and expanding educational opportunities were all wisely determined to be best…..
Now in my thirteenth month of home confinement, caused by an incurable disease which has reduced the use of my legs to a 2 inch shuffle with canes or walker, along with increasing numbness of hands and fingers, I am unsure of the remaining time God may permit me to serve. Thus, I make this appeal to all in the US and around the world who share a belief in the triumph of good over evil, who endorse our…..
The other day I listened to a supporter of black protestors, advocating the need for meaningful dialogue. If this is truly the desire, then the basic facts at the heart of the issue must first be addressed: Why do we never hear about promoting and encouraging the true “American Dream”, whereby every young American is encouraged to develop his or her talents and skills to the fullest extent possible? Why do we begrudge a successful person the fruits of…..
The most charitable observation I can make concerning Professional Footballer Colin Kaepernick’s disgraceful attitude toward our flag and National Anthem, before millions of people, is that had he done his homework and honestly reviewed our history, he would have realized the cause he claimed to champion was 60 years earlier.
Today, in America, there is no greater proof than his Profession that America rewards top skills and talents, not the color of one’s skin. Check the roster of Professional Football…..
